Given the current context of the city of Antequera with the recent addition to the World Heritage List of the Site of the Dólmens, the Peña de los Enamorados and the Torcal, it is essential for the city to make determinations for the future. Taking into account the unprecedented momentum of being part of the World Heritage Site, a global reflection at the scale of urban and peri-urban space is essential for the progressive reconversion of the city model.

The Antequera Landscape Network is presented as part of the response to these new challenges. In fact, it is considered necessary to establish a green strategy for the protection and enhancement of the Antequera landscape. This roadmap seeks to develop support not only for the tourist enjoyment of our heritage, but also to improve the quality of life of citizens and fight against global change.

The diagnosis of the Landscape Network allows the identification of heritage and landscape elements with potential tourist or recreational value, as well as existing landscape impacts, sensitive areas and potential risks. It is proposed as a complementary document to the PGOU of Antequera that allows clear and precise objectives to be set to affirm the landscape dimension of the city. Likewise, the system of free spaces of the PGOU is expanded and consolidated by defining the intervention criteria for each element of the Landscape Network, such as parks, itineraries, or ecological corridors linked to the rivers in contact with the city, or the creation of an agro-cultural park in the Antequera plain.

The Landscape Network seeks to promote sustainable planning of the city of Antequera, using tourism that is currently booming as a catalyst for development. This will make it possible to achieve a substantial improvement in the living environment for the benefit not only of tourists, but also, and in the end, above all, of citizens. The main advantage of a model based on tourism is the premise of a development that values the heritage and environmental elements of the city and its surroundings. The challenge is to find the necessary balance between the tourist enjoyment of the city of Antequera and the preservation of existing resources.

The Landscape Network is conceived as an open document and is implemented with a Participatory Process that allows the involvement of key actors. It is a process in which participation accompanies, facilitates and enriches the technical work, not only through consultations, but also with tools such as co-design and co-management. Dado el contexto actual de la ciudad de Antequera con la reciente incorporación a la Lista del Patrimonio Mundial del Sitio de los Dólmenes, la Peña de los Enamorados y el Torcal, se hace imprescindible para la ciudad tomar determinaciones de cara al futuro. Teniendo en cuenta el impulso sin precedente que supone formar parte del Patrimonio de la Humanidad, una reflexión global a la escala del espacio urbano y periurbano resulta fundamental para la reconversión progresiva del modelo de ciudad.

La Red Paisajística de Antequera se presenta como parte de la respuesta a estos nuevos retos. En efecto se considera necesario establecer una estrategia verde para la protección y la puesta en valor del paisaje antequerano. Esa hoja de ruta trata de desarrollar un soporte no solo para el disfrute turístico de nuestro patrimonio, pero también para mejorar la calidad de vida de los ciudadanos y luchar contra el cambio global.

El diagnóstico de la Red Paisajística permite identificar los elementos patrimoniales y paisajísticos con potencial valor turístico o recreacional, así como los impactos paisajísticos existentes, las áreas sensibles y los riesgos potenciales. Se plantea como un documento complementario al PGOU de Antequera que permite fijar objetivos claros y precisos para afirmar la dimensión paisajística de la ciudad. Así mismo se amplia y consolida el sistema de espacios libres del PGOU mediante la definición de los criterios de intervención para cada elemento de la Red Paisajística, tales como parques, itinerarios, o corredores ecológicos vinculados a los ríos en contacto con la ciudad, o la creación de un parque agro-cultural en la vega de Antequera.

La Red Paisajística busca fomentar una ordenación sostenible de la ciudad de Antequera, utilizando el turismo actualmente en auge como catalizador del desarrollo. Esto permitirá conseguir una mejora sustancial del marco de vida en beneficio no solamente de los turistas, pero también, y al final cabo, sobre todo, de los ciudadanos. La principal ventaja de un modelo fundamentado en el turismo es la premisa de un desarrollo que ponga en valor los elementos patrimoniales y ambientales de la ciudad y su entorno. El reto consiste en encontrar el equilibrio necesario entre el disfrute turístico de la ciudad de Antequera y la preservación de los recursos existentes.

La Red Paisajística se concibe como un documento abierto y se implementa con un Proceso Participativo que permite la implicación de los actores clave. Es un proceso en el que la participación acompaña, facilita y enriquece el trabajo técnico, no solo a través de consultas, pero también con herramientas tales como el co-diseño y la co-gestión. Actualmente se está desarrollando el proceso de participación ciudadana para poder incorporar, mediante talleres y mesas de trabajo, la visión de los distintos actores en las estrategias de la Red Paisajística.
